emma

today we learned how to drum dance, throat singing, and songs and games. It's really fun. The song was impossible to sing. The word were really long. Throat singing was really hard. It's hard to make the sound. It's funny when you make a weird sound. It's not very cold here.

Friday: Sarah-Lynn

Today we learned to throatsing, drum dance and sing in Inuktutik. It was impossible to sing the songs since every word was a billion letters long, and half of them were q's. But it was fine because whenever I couldn't pronounce a word I made random clicking sounds and nobody could tell that I wasn't singing the right thing....the perfect crime.

Day 2 - Lori

So today was our 2nd day in Iqaluit, our first full day...and it was the beginning of the music camp. In the music camp we learned how to sing a few Inuit songs, tried out throat singing, and some drum dancing too. It was lots of fun, and that is what we are doing tomorrow too.
We are having a lot of fun here, and there are a lot of cultural things we have seen already, even though its only the 2nd day. It is pretty cold, but not as cold as I expected, but I guess according to the musical group here, that it is just really warm.

Friday

Hey, we've been having alot of fun here in Iqualuit. We've gotten to know the other kids here, they're so nice. Today we've been participating in a music camp with the kids in the community. We've taken Throat singing, which is alot of fun (some people are really good), Drum Dancing, which is harder than it looks, and Inuktituk Songs and Games. Yesterday it didn't feel too cold, but today it is really chilly. From the school we can see Frobisher Bay which is still very frozen. We're having so much fun here in the cold :)
